Any point of interest in these three places that would be good for a few night hike?

This time of year - No. We like Berkshires. Pretty easy, good huts and not too much damage from this year's storm.
Its all good. Kelly-Stand road north over stratton .
You'll find lots of good hikes here: http://www.berkshirehiking.com/hikes/index.html and http://www.taconichiking.com/. Many are day hikes, which might be preferable at this time of year unless you have good cold-weather gear. You could certainly make a nice 2-3 day circuit trip on Mt. Greylock. As others have said, get maps and guides so you know what you're getting into.

Just want to add that when my son was 15, he and a friend did a 3 or 4-day overnight on the AT in Connecticut, and they had a great time. I'm sure you will, too, jollyrunner, and I hope to meet you on the trail one day.
Southern VT is beautiful. The 40 miles between Bennington and Manchester has only one (dirt) road crossing. There are spectacular views from the firetowers at the summits of Glastenbury and Stratton. The shelter at Stratton Pond is huge and well sited. However, don't plan to tent at Stratton Pond. Beaver activity has made the hike to the tenting area very wet and buggy.

Upper Goose Pond, awesome. Camp on Glastonbury, its a haunted mountain. The firetower is sweet. If you can up there during a full moon is a bonus. Plenty of camping. Stratton, Killington, Greylock. Mass is beautiful but there is something special about Vermont, if its dry
It's all good. I've never had a NH hike that I didn't like.
