    just kind of curious anyone starting the end of feburary?

    lol Ya i just dint know if anyone was going sooner than they said. im super super excited 3 1/2 weeks left im getting very anxious an nervous for it but i think im ready for it been training for the last 2 months hopefully it pays off.

    what are your numbers? pack weight with out food and water,you doing the approach? you make your own stove or bought one? you rdy for the snow,its been kinda light winter so far think it will pile up in Feb? lol yea im excited too, april 6 can't come fast enough.

    Well my pack is 36 pounds with 4-5 days of food and water and yea i bought my stove, its a little msr pocket rocket works amazing. im packing cold gear under armour 2x bottom and top just in case the only thing im worried bout is my sleeping bag its good for 40 degrees then i bought a liner for it havent tested it out thinking ima do that this weekend. I put my 2 weeks in today my dad hates me but oh well just following a dream

    I'll be at the falls on the 22nd and Springer by the 23rd. It's so close I've got butterfly's. Are you going early?

    Ya got a decent job so it was alot easier saving for this venture. That last sentance of my previous post was false, my dad calmed down quite a bit he was pissed at first though haha but its all good. Ya ill be arriving there the 26th, taking good ol greyhound i figure riding the bus for a day and half, i will be ready to walk. Hope to see ya out there and good luck

    That is a great start date - don't let the nay-sayers on here get you down - you'll hit some snow and cold for sure but you'll have the jump on the pack and some company out there for sure. I'd try to loose a little of that pack-weight by March but HYOH and go for it. Have a great one and PM me if you get in a bind in GA / NC somewhere.

    No better start date than Feb 26th, my birthday.
    There are so many miles and so many mountains between here and there that it is hardly worth thinking about

    I Will be arriving at AFSP on February 22nd and I'm sure you will catch me by the time I get to NC border as I am planning a very slow start. What part of Iowa are you from? See you out there!

    Northwest iowa, and im gonna a have a slow start also ive been training but not quite the same as the trail lol
