Looking for the latest update on Kelly Stand Rd. How close can you get the AT trailhead at Stratton from the west? Read last night rd is open up to USFS rd 73. Still true? Headed that way at the end of Aug. Thanks!

You can certainly get to the A.T. trailhead from the east, I gather. I'm not up-to-date on the approach from Rt. 7 in the valley southwest of the mountain.
The more miles, the merrier!

I can tell you from experience it is closed from the West (Route 7)
Does anybody know if it is open yet and what type of surface it is?
The road is reopening. Here is the most recent info...and the road is 100% gravel from Arlington to the AT:

Thank you for the quick reply, helps a lot in planning.
We traversed the length of Kelly Stand/Stratton-Arlington Road between VT 100 and Kansa Road in Arlington this weekend. It's a beautiful drive, and although I'd never been on it before, I can imagine the amount of work that was necessary to get it reopened.
