I was testing out some gear today during our first snow and I noticed how sleeping bags completely stink in hammocks, I was wondering if anyone has any good ideas on how to make one or something. Thanks!

Have you tried using your sleeping bag as a TQ? Unzip it enough to leave a foot box. That's what I'll be doing until I can afford a down TQ.

Definitely check out Hammock Forums. But be careful, you may get sucked in!
For using the sleeping bag in lieu of a TQ/UQ combination I have had good results using the sleeping bag as a quilt with a pad inside the hammock. I tuck the edges of the sleeping bag (or TQ) underneath the pad and voila - I am protected on all sides. Some folks really like to put the pad between layers of a double layer hammock - that never floated my boat. I like the better sealing action of the tuck with the pad inside the hammock with me.
I have made two DIY UQs in the past year. Takes some doing to create a pattern that fits to the curves of a hammock, but can be done. Lots of folks don't bother and just make 'em "flat." I got all my info from www.hammockforums.net, though I already knew how to sew.
One word of caution,-- made sure you get "calendared" (i.e., "down proof") fabric. I got down for my first UQ by cannibalizing an old sleeping bag.
I used sleeping pads in my hammock for a long time, but UQs are so much easier and warmer. I also used my sleeping bag (mostly unzipped) as a top quilt for a long time, but down is not evenly distributed top-&-bottom in sleeping bags, plus the hood was always in the way. I purchased a TQ and find it much better than making do with a sleeping bag.
