Unidentified AT Hiker

Found this guy on a hike yesterday afternoon.
Wondered if anybody knows him.


We judged him to be an AT hiker by his apparel and general appearance,
although he was off-trail at the time.
Gear appeared to be intact.


Really concerned about him. Very emaciated.
He was immobile and unresponsive to our questions.
We could not detect a pulse.


Maybe someone knows who he is, and could inform his family?
We wanted to help him in some way, but didn't know what to do.

Also saw this neat looking holly-like shrub with a large spray of yellow flowers in our visit to the Knoxville Botanical Garden.
