Thought you guys would like to see this. Its something I use to do when I made custom fishing lures but it works great for adding a durable bright color to the top of my tent/tarp stakes.

Thanks for the tip!

Now all we need to do is figure a way to make ti shepherd hook stakes work in anything wilder than our back yards and hardened tent pads.
Nice tip, though. I hope someone finds the stake that I sling-shotted into the woods on the NST in RI .

Nice, thanks for taking the time to show us

Nifty. Should probably do alot more stuff like that, not just for function but for keeping your morale up. Something to do with your sewing and repair kit when bored. Use natural materials you find along the way. Make wooden button and hooks and eyes and stuff, or just tastles and stuff just for show, and maybe to keep the bugs down a little.
Many years ago I had to mark 7 aluminum tent stakes to keep them segregated from the rest of my stakes. I dipped the top 2" or so into red plastic goop that is sold for the purpose of coating tool handles. It worked, but the plastic coating is not nearly as durable as powder-coating. Reeper's method is much better, although a little more labor-intensive. Great idea!
Nice idea, easy to apply. I like it.
