    Default bears?!?!?

    if i keep all scented items away from my tent will bears mess with me on the JMT?

    Do that in one of the 3 National Parks, and you're facing a serious fine and probably jail time. There is ZERO reason to carry on the JMT, unless we're talking about a flyrod.

    Yes, of course, and I'll also tell you that residential real estate prices will continue to increase exponentially on an annual basis indefinitely. Bring the bear canister and store it with all scented items away from where you sleep. Bears have a highly developed sense of smell and they can easily detect food odors on your clothing and gear from great distances. Black bears on the JMT can be a problem at established camping areas where problem humans once were. Don't be a problem human!
