Really enjoyed reading through your blogs, looking forward to meeting some extremely awesome people next year! I've started a bit of a blog as well, more just documenting for myself and helping me plan things a bit better really, and I'm doing some kit reviews for my work.

Good luck with all your preparations, see you next year!

Originally I came in 2008 as an independent missionary. It was truly a God thing. I ran a kindergarten for those two years. Later I came back but this time it all hasn't gone as well. I am anxious to get home and dig into preparing for this hike.

It was a really good read! By far the most useful guide I've read. I'm pretty happy with my equipment and everything but I've been pondering the mental side of things for a while; that's gonna be the hard part. Feeling a bit more confident now though. More excited than nervous!

Ha Nice. I saw you have your pack to 25 lbs with food and water? That's awesome. Right now, our winter gear included and food and water, our packs are around 30lbs. Without winter stuff, maybe 26ish. We both plan to spread everything out after our recent shakedown hike and cut corners wherever makes sense

The funniest thing, I think, about the trail, is that I was almost always so inexplicably happy. Every night I had the most bizarrely cheerful dreams.

I'm going to try and make an effort to add more prep entries.
At the end of the month I'm heading to Nepal to hike to Everest Base Camp.
