Default Cheap Lodging near Cheese Factory

My 2 sisters and I driving from Wisconsin straight through to continue our hike at the Cheese Factor. I am looking for lodging to crash a couple hours and shower before hitting the trail. I have a ride that will pick us up and take us to the trail and move my car to our planned end point so I am looking for something close to that. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

The only place I could think of would be Josh and Leighs place. http://hikerhostel.com. $15 a night in the bunk house includes breakfast.

The little town of Helen is fairly close by. Lots of lodging availiable there. It is a "tourist trap" town however.

The Hiker Hostel is one of the finest places to stay, great folks and great price.

But the lodging was cheap, at least in March.

Lodging is still cheap in Helen. I live pretty close and tourism is WAY DOWN this year. If you don't want to do the hostel thing, Helen will have plenty of very affordable lodging 20 minutes from the trail.

If you just want a nap & shower, drive to Helen and follow the signs to Unicoi State Park. Pay for a campsite, take a shower and grab a nap there. $14 fora walk-in campsite.
