honestly, skirts are for women and scotts
Why would any man wish to wear a skirt in an attempt to stay warm?
People let trends overrule their common sense.
It has been said that a journey begins with a single step. I say hogwash! It starts with a dream.
Actually if you want to stay warmer, wear pantyhose.

With my kilt (Skirt? ) & a pair of winteralls pantyhose, & can hike in windy (50 mph gusts) weather down to at least 29 (per weather report from the flatlands) wearing pants dosn't keep me that much warmer, so why bother, esp since I hate wearing pants.
Curse you Perry the Platypus!
Yeah, yeah, I know. You still look like a girl wearing a kilt.
No offense intended, do as you wish.
It is not necessary for me to look like a girl to stay warm with all the clothing options available to us today.
I fully understand the principles behind wearing a kilt, I'm just not going to wear a kilt any more than I'm going to wear my hiking pants below my ass & turn my cap sideways.

Yep. When and if I ever get serious chaffing issues, I'll look into kilts. Til then, I'll stick with pants and shorts.
I heard once wearing those just over the foot panty hose prevents blister is this a hiking myth or fact?
Would you be offended if I told you to
TAKE A HIKE!

I've never worn them as a blister preventative myself, but I will say that, when worn as an item of women's clothing, I often have problems with my toes punching through the thin nylon. Talk about causing pain and blisters... Some types are fairly sturdy, but some are quite delicate and don't last through even one day's walking around a city as a tourist.

Tell Sean Connery he looks like a girl in a kilt, I dare you.
If you don't like kilts, don't wear one. If you aren't man enough to stand by while others wear one, you have more problems than I can help with.
Haiku.
