For a NY Times interview, that sure was fluff.

Not sure what "Fluff" means, but I thought it was pretty good.
First time I've heard him be serious about something.
His books are usually very cynical.
He was never one of my favorite authors.
Maybe it's the "Fluff"?

The Bryson interview is this week's last-page feature from the Sunday nyt magazine section. It's always snarky, meant to entertain more than to inform.
Here's a link to more of them, for anyone who's interested:

The ATC's swooning for all things AWITW aside, had a very nice interview with Bryson in the most recent issue of their mag. My respect for him increased beyond the initial opinion I formed after reading a review printed on a t-shirt.
yep, agreed. That whole ATC issue was nearly devoted to discussing AWITW, and was an excellent issue. The Bryson interview, a "behind the scenes" look at the filming, lots of pics (including some by our Laurie P), an article on the effect of AWITW on the trail including a writeup on a push for flip/flops for lessening trail impacts, etc, etc. Can't wait for the movie! Starts 9/2, I think.
