Default Shuttles, hostels for sheltowee & pinhoti?

Hi there, after completing the AT last year, i'll be flying back over in March for another hike, so looking for info on shuttlers and hostels.

does anyone know any shuttlers from (Pinhoti) southern terminus to Sylacauga to be able to get greyhound to Birmingham and known Hostels or cheap places to stay for the night (I did find a hostel but looks to be closed down)

from Birmingham taking greyhound to Knoxville, again any hostels or shuttlers from Knoxville to southern terminus of the Sheltowee.

or if I decide to go North, then carry onto the BMT any shuttler from the north terminus of the BMT (Standing Bear hostel) to Knoxville?

have thought about hitching, would that be do able in them areas? and I've just download the couchsurfing app.

thanks for any and all info

    For the Pinhoti: https://coosahikerhostel.weebly.com/
There is a hostel in Talladega(Next Step) and one of sorts in Georgia, Mulberry Gap is the Georgia one.

For the BMT, I know Standing Bear does shuttles. I am pretty sure I have heard they will drive to the airport in Knoxville, I think it just depends on if they have a driver available.

Hitching is possible. Would be a pretty tough hitch from the Pinhoti Southern Terminus though, you are in a sparsely populated area. If you do Facebook, there are several Pinhoti groups and a lot of helpful people.

The reason I haven't completed the Sheltowee is due to a lack of resources that I know of, or that exist. I was only ever able to find 1 guy that could shuttle me, and it was for the section south of Alum Ford. I drove 2 cars up to big south fork for many many trips before getting tired of the double mileage. Following this thread for more info

You can request a shuttle now from the STA website. https://events.r20.constantcontact.c...3&oseq=&c=&ch=.

I've thru hiked it twice and got a shuttle pretty easily end-to-end. Also, there's a hostel-y like place that shuttles now. Forget exactly where but they're in the bottom third of the trail and were willing to shuttle me the northern end.

We have had crazy amounts of rain here in in East TN, with no end in sight. I think I saw on the Sheltowee Trace FB page that one of the river crossings is currently impassable due to flooding. might want to keep an eye on it.

I can believe that. The ST is pretty obsolete in the bridge department
