    Default Eckville Shelter and parking

Since this is a hiking shelter I would guess that parking at the shelter, grassy area is not permitted.
Is there any problem parking at the trail intersection just up the road for overnight?
My son will be backpacking north to the shelter and I could camp with him

There is roadside parking just up the road at the trail crossing however I bet if you arrive and talk to the owner/ caretaker it wouldn't be a problem parking right there at it, either way I would say you are good to go for arriving with a car for a night.

Edit: When looking at google maps, there is a hiker walking to their parked car across the street in that grassy area, as well as a gravel parking for 1-2 in front of the shelter/ house.

There is a state gamelands parking lot .8mi around the corner on Pine Swamp Road (40.6262837, -75.9519672). There is a short connector trail from it to the AT. I have parked there many times.
Plaid is fast! Ticks suck, literally... It’s ok, bologna hoses off…

I once arrived to stay there with a vehicle to provide a group resupply. I wasn't allowed to park in the driveway, but did park in the grass across the street. This was probably in 2018.

That seems quite reasonable with permission.
