    Default Dirtbagger Alert!!!!

Ocean State Job Lot has Cabela's down vests (550 goose down - not feathers) for $15. I could see nothing wrong with them.

They're based in RI, but have locations in CT, MA, NY, VT.....are you interested? I could grab one and ship it to you.

DSCN4010.jpg They have them in black, blaze orange and citron green. They're sized for women, but the same as the men's except about 2" shorter. Guys just go one size up.

Just to add - theuy are kind of a combination of closeout and discount store - about 1/3 of their merchandise is stocked regularly and the rest is stuff they get as special deals (assuming like this one).

They have had a number of outdoors related items - everything from Kayaks to snowshoes to $4 or $5 short sleeved hiking shirts.

Many of them are not the biggest or most known names, and often not the best out there but will work OK for those looking for something on a budget

I would be glad to see them set up shop in Florida. I have an importer near me that gets some cool stuff, but it is very expensive.

I can see a spot on the front of the vest where one can sew on a Patagonia logo patch.

    Here's the trail talk.

Trail Newbie: Wow, that's a Patagonia vest? Never seen that Patagonia vest before. What's the model? What did you pay for it?

Trail Poser: It's the Ocean State model. I got it on sale. Can't quite remember the exact price I paid for it.

And here I go to the trouble to TAKE OFF all the identifying tags and labels.....apparently I've got it all backward!

If you want one I'll be happy to go tomorrow...it's only a mile from my house...no big deal. Just tell me what color, what size, and where to ship.

You know I'm only messin with ya Teach? Although I actually did see a hiker, on the AT as usual(I've met some of the strangest people on the AT), that had hand written Patagonia on a jacket with an indelible black ink marker actually trying to pas off his jacket as a Patagonia product. I guess he was dressing to impress. It was so funny. Everyone caught it. I think he was a long section hiker. As he wore it to a greater degree in the rain etc, the ink started to fade leaving a very washed out faded looking Patagonia. What made it even funnier is that he never dotted the "i" and the "t" was a "T". LOL.

Your Jack Russel isn't hung up on labels and brands is he? You might have to tell him it's Patagonia, and hope he can't read................

Of course I knew you were kidding, Dogwood! As was I....but hey, I remember the 80's...a time when that was EXACTLY what would happen - except with blue jeans. (not by me of course, although I did differentiate between Levis red and orange tags! )
