Thank you for your advice. I don't understand most of these statements. I am not alienating anyone. I have to give away marketing ideas in order to do marketing. I chose a stove design that many different people and companies have been making and selling, and none of them claim to have invented it.

You wouldn't need to give away marketing ideas if you approached people who fit your ideas. Simply read through the threads, look for someone who is looking into alchy stoves for their upcoming hike, send a simple, polite PM offering your stove for simple name drops.

And you are alienating people, at least me. Simply the statement "women preferred" threw me off, I'm a guy. Not sure why that statement was made.

In any case, I wish you luck.

I guess that's a little discriminatory. I only prefer women because more than 2/3 of the long distance hikers I've met have been guys.

I wrote a lengthy and useful reply, but my piece of S*** IPad decided it didn't need to be posted (third time this week it's done this) so instead I'm just posting to rant.

Seriously I don't know why these things are so popular. I got this thing for free and I'm still not sure if it's worth what I paid for it.

Sorry for starting the thread swerve .

The short version of the point I was originally going to make (before my iPad decided to suck) was that the vast majority of hikers and gear buyers are short distance and section hikers. It's fine if you want to use thru hikers for you free stove/product demos, but the way you worded your opening post and responses had an exclusionary tone that can put people off. It would have been better if you had either worded the post differently or just privately reached out to people you thought would be good and offered it to them.

Not a big deal, just something to consider.

People are being way too sexist. There are more long distance hiker guys than women. If a guy is attracted to a woman, he might spend time with her and see the stove.

on another thread of yours you said "The stoves you mentioned are probably better for instant foods. My stoves might not make sense for "Mountain House" eaters. When I'm cooking cabbage, I want something that won't get too hot and will cook for a long time."
does this mean yours takes longer to boil water and i would need to carry more fuel? there are so many stoves out there now (we just used to make our own) with sites and vids. it can get confusing. i have met some of the inventors and fabricators. their knowledge and professionalize is what i remember about them. considering the hole your digging you should think of selling small orange shovels.

My stoves are extremely fuel efficient, especially if you hover the pot about 5 inches over it while it primes. A supercat stove will heat up and burn out quickly. It won't give a steady burn that is best for pasta and cabbage.

    Advantages of my stoves:

    · Durable (You can fill a pack and stand on it without causing damage. You can throw it at a hard surface, and it will still work.)
They have the added durability of a rolled top.
    · Lightweight (approximately 26 grams, or 0.9 ounces)
    · Primes easily
    · No moving parts
    · One piece
. Made from thick Budweiser aluminum bottles that are sometimes hard to find and are extremely dirty.
