The best times WR is when you are with friends and bust out frozen Margaritas on the trail on section hikes.... Blows the friends away,... and requires little effort.
Dogs are excellent judges of character, this fact goes a long way toward explaining why some people don't like being around them.

Very true! Of course, the same can be said in Baja! On a kayak trip, I broke out the margaritas (had secretly stowed them away) and the friends were shocked.

Best time was on a hot humid summer hike hitting an old fire tower, Asked my buddy if he wanted a beer, He said I must be nuts to carry them in this heat. I agreed, & pulled them out of where I had slipped them in his pack! When he complained they were a little warm I asked if he wanted to haul ice next time. Slightly warm was fine with him.

Premixed drinks can be had at any store nowadays.... Store the platy with Margarita frozen next to the water platy.... Cut the lime and rim it & salt micro cutting board ( I use a cutting sheet as a support to my pack from a $1 store.)

Very good info! I had forgotten about the bag o' margarita! I might have to take that with me on my next trip out to visit the woods.

I have a friend who has one of those. Tempted to get one myself. Not just for hiking... I can see it coming in handy in Baja, too!

It would be a real hoot (yea, that was a pun) watching WOO trying to hang his hammock down in the baja. Let's see, there's a tree in southern California, and another near Panama. Gonna take a lot of tension to get it off the ground!

Well, it would be fun to watch him try and hitch his hammock to some cacti. Or, there are big rocks...

Good backup plan! Down in Baja, I have my kayaking gig. A few islands to play around down there on the Sea of Cortez.

I've seen the premixed, but never thought of it in the context of backpacking! I am so going to try this next time. You guys are endangering the purity of my hike.
How long on average do they stay frozen (or at least slushy) when you store the bag deep in your pack?

Hey we as a group are exspanding your horizons - so I have never figured out how long past slushy.... sort of how many licks to the center of a tootsie...

Less than it used to...today's tootsie pops seem to be considerably smaller than the ones I used to enjoy as a kid.
