Default $6 "crocs" at Dollar General stores

(Feb 22) Was just in Dollar General today (this is the big discount chain store, has a yellow blocky-font sign). Not to be confused with Family Dollar, Dollar Tree, etc.

Anyway, they had "croc" knockoffs in adult sizes for six bucks! They looked identical to the name-brand ones that sell for 29.99 most places.

Just FYI if anyone needs "croc" type shoes on a budget.

will have to check them out---probably lighter than the original too.

If you have a Fred's in your area, I purchased a couple of pair at $7.85/pair. They are more comfortable than those I took on my hike.

I bought a pair of the DG 'Crocs' - they are a bit lighter and more comfy than my real Crocs.

Black, navy blue, dark brown and tan. I also saw some in smaller sizes in marine blue, pink and yellow.

For that price you can have a pair in every color. Wear a different color on each foot and make a fashion statement.

Got mine here in Croswell, MI

If they have them here, they must have them everywhere! Very comfortable.

    Question:

Does the heel strap swing back like the real McCoys or are they for show only? Seem to be tightly fastened in the forward position. I don't wand to bust 'em.

I saw this thread and Goggled Dollar General...simple click of store locator, zip code and KAPoohey....a distance of zero miles...hmm so there's one in my town huh..
Okay, never been and a mile from the house...yeah so I'm not much for shopping centers.

I bought my first pair off the net at a medical supply place and I think they were about $10.00 and that included shipping..I still have them and they have quite a few miles on them but they are just foam clogs without the thing that goes around the back. I found a need for that thing that goes around the back while wearing them to cross a creek swollen with snow melt.

I wasn't about to pay $29.00 for a $2.00 pair of foam shoes just becuase they have the name "Crocs" on them...plus what a rip off that they didn't even put the entire name on them "Crocs of S#it" $14.50 per sandal that's a little steep for a pice of molded foam.

So...Thank You very much norub for posting this.
I happily paid $6.00 and know that I'll easily get $3.00 worth of wear out of each one.

I go bare foot at camp, and wear the trusty ole boots in towns. Why take up pack space and carry extra weight. Besides crocs look girly.

AustinLowes17, going barefoot without extensive preparation (look up the Barefoot Sisters for details) has some risks associated with it - cuts and infections head the list. The condition of your feet is vitally important to the success of your hike. I urge you to take care of them.
