I have the Zpacks Triplex. It is the best and lightest tent I've ever had...hands down. I can't recommend a better option...unless you tried a cuben fiber tarp.

Has anyone here hiked the Haute Route in France/Switzerland? I'm looking for more info on cost and experiences...
I have an all black GVP4 (prior to Gossamer Gear) pack that is 14 years old... I haven't had a problem with it on the AT. I'm rarely exposed long or above treeline though...
I'm 36. Worked for the the same company for 15 years. I plan to work there another 20. I'm taking a 150 day LOA to hike the Appalachian Trail. I've got a wife, two teen-aged kids, two dogs, a...
I've got the HH Ultralite A-sym, and I use it alot. I'm 240#. There is a safety factor built in for 'reasonable' wear, but I've only had one problem with mine in 9 years... The center line for the...
Isn't asking WBers for advice like asking the crazy people how to get out of the asylum?
Moms will worry. Be respectful to mom. Go on your hike.
I have an original G4 (GG was GVP) that I've used for 10 years or so. It has held up well, and I'm planning on starting my thru this year with it (I have a back-up). I use my ridgerest inside to...
I'm a middle-weight dude. I have a base pack weight around 13#, Skin-out weight of 18# before I add fuel food and water... But I hate being hungry or thirsty (and I always drink a lot), so I carry...
I'll be 36 when I start at Springer April 16th.
I have a pair and use them mostly for winter kayaking, but I did wear them hiking once... bad idea. I wear Adidas trail runners for hiking. I sweat a lot, and the fit is not very conforming around...

Laetiporus cincinnatus (Morgan) Burdsall, Banik, & Volk has recently been recognized as a separate species from Laetiporus sulphureus (Fr.) Murr. (We accomplished this in a paper with this citation:...
Chicken of the woods: Laetiporus sulphureus : Sulfur Shelf
How to identify it: Bright to dull orange shelf fungus with yellow underside, usually growing in stacks. Fall timing.
Looks like fungi to me... that was easy. Now the hard question... what type of fungi is it?
Antsy McClain has a song to that effect: I was just flipped-off by a silver-haired old lady with a 'honk if you love Jesus' sticker on the bumper of her car.
Great song... to listen to.
My daughter has the Hello Kitty backpack, and I'd worry about having enough room. You may want to consider a larger pack. Since you seem fond of WalMart, I'll keep my eye open for a suitable...
I see you have the spiderman long underwear, but I didn't see any other 'bottoms.' You may want to consider the Aquaman or WonderWoman Underoos for when you must wash the Spidey clothes.
Besides,...
I bought the Dr Scholl custom orthotics (440) about a year ago and have used them in several shoes. These are completely different than all the other Dr. Scholls crud you find in the local...
I guess it is fine... though my hiking buddy probably isn't so happy about me going all 'brokeback'.:-?
Troegs sampler pack - One stop shopping. Six styles. All good beers - even though Troegs is from PA.
It must be true... I've been drinking brewers yeast all of my adult life, and I haven't had fleas once.
Today I visited an outlet mall and ($44 later) returned home with an XXL membrane rain jacket. On this garment it says in various places: Columbia, Titanium, Omni-tech seam sealed rain jacket. The...
I've got Adidas AdiZero XT (as in extreme trailrunners?) they have great traction without the holes in the bottoms like other AdiZeros I have. (I worry about rocks, or sticks poking me. I added my...
I'd love to meet some folks from the class of '11 within 3 hours of Cincinnati for a shake-down hike (Harrison-Crawford, Shawnee, Red River gorge) or two.
