Not an opinion on the issue of his death, but...the AT does go through the northern end of the township of Sherman. Townships in Connecticut and Massachusetts can cover a lot of land outside of the town centers.
The trouble I have with campfires are the folks that carry a bottle in one hand and a Bible in the other.
You never know which one is talking.

It's still 50-55 Degrees at night up there.
Dogs are excellent judges of character, this fact goes a long way toward explaining why some people don't like being around them.

Default re: death along the AT in Connecticut - Updates?

Its been several days since this occurred. Anyone have an update?

Was this at the Schaghticoke Mountain campsite or a stealth site? Active crime scene?

I'm passing through the area shortly on a section hike and am willing to place a small wreath/cross along the trail near the spot.

That's very thoughtful of you. It would be south of Schaghticoke by several miles. Sherman is the southernmost town in CT on the AT, which is in the town for about 4 miles before entering Kent. Kent is where the Schaghticoke reservation is, as well as about a mile of AT which dips back into New York before returning to Connecticut. I didn't see any update of this story in the Danbury News-Times and couldn't find anything in the Poughkeepsie Journal, which appears to be the main newspaper near Fishkill, near where the deceased resided. If it's not a suspicious death, if would be nice for the police to say so.
    The more miles, the merrier!

no - but I was thinking Hypothermia, as a first guess.

I spoke to the reporter - there is no new information.

WOO, of course, but I still think Marsha had something to do with it.
