So true! Peanut butter is one thing I rarely eat at home, but a staple on a long hike.

Hiking also removes guilt with the calories you burn. On long hikes I have even taken it to what would gross many people out in normal settings. Like the times a bunch of thrus got together & made burritos at the hostel in Pearisburg. Guy frying hamburg up asked what to do with the fat? We let it congeal a bit & spooned it on...man they tasted great!

Well I'm having a bowl of breakfast pea soup right now, and I think it is fine. She used her 14 yr old daughter as a judge!?????????? No wonder she isn't bringing it. I figure I'll have some now, I've got an aweful lot to not let go to waste............there goes that diet.

What 14 YO like pea soup? For years I couldn't stand look or texture of it. Now when cooking a ham I think...awsome I better buy some split peas too for soup when I get to the bone.

They're such an innocuous thing to hate so strongly--yet I do! (And Clifton too, it seems!)

On the other hand, I love lima beans and Brussels sprouts. Brussels sprouts may be my actual favorite food (when I remove the stuff that's not actual food, like ice cream and Heath bars).

Oh my....those are THE 2 vegetables that I cannot stand. My mother is always telling Brussel sprout stories at holiday dinners. We never had lima beans, she must not like them either. Overload and her daughter love them .

For Dad's 11th birthday he requested and got a bowl of limas with candles instead of a cake. Or maybe he just made that up to get the four of us to eat our beans. Either way, I lovem.
