I plan on hiking the JMT in late summer and need to know if a hammock tent is even an option? My instincts suggest not, but I've never been to the Sierras. Thanks

I've hiked about 70% of the JMT and it's entirely doable with a hammock
My two hiking friends just hiked it this August and used their hammocks every night but one at Guitar Lake. They just pitched their tarp and went to ground that night.
I am not young enough to know everything.
I use an eno double with a pro fly. If there are no trees I use my poles to support the tarp making an A frame.
