A close-up of Punchbowl Shelter, made famous by the National Geographic article from across the small pond. Privy is up the hill to the left. Spring is down the hill to right of pond. Three filters got clogged siphoning a few liters each in October 2003.

When we stopped by in May of 2001 there was a hornet nest inside the shelter and a million loud bullfrogs in the pond! Great photo.

when i came upon this shelter on 4/20/03, two bikers(motorcyclists) had ridden up the road on the other side of the pond and were "enjoying each other" on the picnic table in front of shelter.
