Won't that make the tick regurgitate?

I do have to admit to using the permetherin products on my clothing to prevent the tick bites to begin with. Esp. on hunting gear. And yes for the tick checks, you find out who your friends are, lol. And all methods change, what might have been the norm years ago might not be correct now. For the doctor in the house, you should know not to give medical advice over the internet, shame on you, shame, shame, shame.

Karo so its ok to give medical advise on TV but not on the internet? If you'll try expanding your brain and go back and re-read the posts you will see the major points were:
1 Dont diss others statements without a controlled study to back you up.
    2. Don't accept everything that the government (including CDC) or anyone else writes on the internet as fact without a study to prove it.
    3. I gave my opinion on the extra 30 seconds to take a tick off and thats exactly what it is, MY opinion.
    4. The underlying message that I hope you picked up was a "certified red cross instructor" is a pretty useless title to have in the medical feild. Although I'm proud of anyone who accomplishes it. It should be a stepping stone to a higher education but if after 30 years in the medical feild thats as far as a person can go.......that is pretty sad. Btw that is also my opinion.

No ONE, no site, has an issue with the "30 seconds"......NONE

The issue, and try to read slowly, is the tick regurgitating it's stomach contents prior to letting go.

But ignore all the experts. I don't care.

And I agree with your final comment......it is important.

I can chew gum and walk thank you......unless you were referring to Mike.

I just hate reading things posted here that can put others health at risk. I don't view that as a weakness......

Doc I did the EMT thing 30 years ago and had to find another field because of the low pay. I volunteered the Red Cross time both at work and in my community. I have respect for most doctors, but they can be wrong also, you sir are wrong!

Could you please dip into your vast knowledge pool and site the tick regurgitation study? I am very interested to find what causes ticks to puke (and pukes to tic).

Sierra Echo, I do not know you, but you started this mess and you continue to chastise me, why? Can"t you admit you are wrong? I can but in this case I am not. The advise you gave is wrong, admit it. Look at the facts on tick removal from any reliable source and they will tell you NOT to do what you recommend. You and that quack DOC are being childish and pig headed and cannot back up your facts. There are warnings out this year about the spread on Lyme Disease and AT thru hikers every year fall victim to this disease. Again I ask the moderators to remove this thread entirely.

I recall i read somewhere once its the compression of their abdomens when youre trying to remove them that causes them to regurgitate. Cant say if thats 100% accurate or not but it does seem to make sense to me.

There are 100s of sites stating the same thing. It's not that tick bite that gets ya. It's the regurgitated contents that do.

Those that don't believe it because of no "controlled, double-blind study", can believe what they want.
