sooo very true, my shoes were to small, because my feet had expanded, and I had soft shoes..... bought some stiff keen boots at that town close to port Clinton, and it was a whole different world.
I enjoyed his book, and when you write a book about just hiking,,hiking hiking, you got to add some spice. Just got thru the Shenandoah's and saw 17 bears. I left his book at the hostel in Georgia...
